The Food Bank distributes food through a network of collaborating entities duly registered in the Register of Social Service Entities, Services and Establishments (RESES) of the Department of Social Rights and Inclusion. These entities are the ones that deliver food to the different people served, with a great deal of social assistance work. The network is made up of Food Distribution Centers (CDA), Town Halls, Regional Councils, associations, foundations and other social entities. The people served are referred by the different Social Services of City Councils and Regional Councils, among other authorized entities.

The campaigns

BIG COLLECTION
As every year, the Campaign in capital letters is the GRAN RECAPTE, which was held on 22 and 23 November with the mixed collection modality (physical and economic). We attach great importance to the collection of physical food, since we know that donors especially like to be able to collaborate by providing concrete products. However, economic collection is also very valuable, since it allows us to optimize resources by purchasing basic food at the best price, according to the most urgent needs of the moment. This 2024 we have carried out a study on the effectiveness of the different modalities. One of the most outstanding conclusions was that in the chains where only financial collection was carried out, but there was a presence of volunteers, twice as much was collected as in those where there were no volunteers. This data demonstrates the importance of volunteering in all collection formats, even when food is not physically collected. We will do everything possible to ensure that in the next editions there is an even greater participation of volunteers, especially in the financial collection chains, where their presence makes a big difference.
SPRING HARVEST
In 2024, several conditions were added to the implementation of the "Spring Collection" campaign, which took place on May 24th and 25th, just like the Great Collection, in the mixed modality. However, very few entities were interested in participating, not due to lack of need, but due to the logistics, which are much more complicated for them at this time. In total, €9,324.26 was collected.
OTHER CAMPAIGNS
Throughout the year, several schools, institutes, civic centers and companies have approached us with the desire to organize solidarity food collection campaigns. Whenever they have asked us for it, we have provided them with the necessary support so that they can carry it out autonomously, adapting it to their possibilities and environment. These initiatives have been very well received and have highlighted the sensitivity and commitment of the educational, social and business community towards people in situations of vulnerability. Thanks to all these campaigns, a total of 14,036 kilos of food have been collected, equivalent to €39,862.24, a figure that directly contributes to our objective of guaranteeing access to basic and decent food for everyone.
NO HOME WITHOUT FOOD
During the month of June 2024, the La Caixa Foundation and CaixaBank promoted, for another year, their solidarity initiative in support of food banks, with the slogan "No home without food". This was the fourth edition of the campaign. In our Bank, the response was very positive and €25,018.87 was raised.
